Mathilde GRANDIN / Martin CHARDAIN of France danced to the lead in the Pattern Dances of Basic Novice. Yelyzaveta KRAPIVNA / Yegor RYBALCHENKO (UKR) and France’s Ninon TERREAUX / Alric BAUMGARTNER follow in second and third place. Emma BRUEY / Justin GRIMSINGER of France and Anastasia BOYARSKA / Yehor BARSHAK (UKR) are currently ranked 4th and 5th.

Mathilde GRANDIN / Martin CHARDAIN turned in two solid performances with good technical skills. There were rewarded with 29,82 points and two first places for their Pattern Dances.

Close behind Yelyzaveta KRAPIVNA / Yegor RYBALCHENKO with currently 28,44 points. The second french couple Ninon TERREAUX / Alric BAUMGARTNER, competed in Dortmund for the third time and finished third as well with 28,02 points. “We skated well and are happy with what we have done,” Ninon TERREAUX stated. “We are progressing well and always wants to get better. Our aim for the Free Dance is keeping our place or even go higher,” Alric BAUMGARTNER commented.
Emily PHILLIPS / Jayin PANESAR of Great Britain did their international competition and are currently sitting in 9t h (22.07 p.) after a great debut. “We scored personal best today and are happy with that. We are not here to win, but to score a personal best overall. It would be great to finish the competition with more points than at the British Championchips and other competitions in Britain,” Jayin PANESAR said. Their coaches – and Emily’s parents – Lucine and David John Phillips participated with his former couple Rebecca Forsyth & Christopher Hockaday at the first NRW Trophy in 2005. They still owns the medal from the first Trophy.

The couple of Dortmund Diana KIST / Erik ERNST did not only skate their first international competition, but there first competition as a couple as well. They came in 12th with 17.93 points. „It’s the first international for us, so we would like to do a good performance. I am not nervous, because I feel I came here very well trained and prepared by our coach,” Diana KIST noted before the first Pattern Dance. “We are pleased with our Pattern Dances. Our biggest aim for tomorrow is to have fun and present us in a good manner in the Free Dance,” Erik ERNST stated after the dances.

In the category NON ISU Basic Novice Sofiia KIIENKO / Oleksii SCHUROV (UKR) are currently leading with 21,46 points. Paula KAPPIS / Jan EISENHABER of Germany are following second with 17,39 points.
